If you’ve recently upgraded to an NVIDIA RTX 50-series card or updated your drivers this week, listen up. NVIDIA has just issued an emergency driver update—GeForce 595.71—to resolve a "potentially catastrophic" bug that caused GPU fans to stop spinning entirely on some systems.
What happened with Driver 595.59?
Released just hours ago, the previous driver (595.59) had a major flaw: it essentially "blinded" hardware monitoring utilities. Users reported that their GPU fans would stay at 0% RPM even under heavy gaming loads, leading to rapid overheating. NVIDIA was forced to "un-release" the driver and has now replaced it with the 595.71 hotfix.
Performance Gains: Resident Evil Requiem & Marathon
It’s not all bug fixes, though. The new 595.71 driver is officially "Game Ready" for the highly anticipated Resident Evil Requiem, which features full DLSS 4.5 support. It also provides optimized performance for Marathon, utilizing NVIDIA Reflex to reduce system latency to record lows on Blackwell architecture.
DLSS 4.5: The Secret Weapon of 2026
We’ve been testing DLSS 4.5 on our RTX 5080 here at the Artifgo Hub. The new "Neural Texture Reconstruction" makes 4K path-tracing look sharper than native resolution. If you’re playing on a 50-series card, this driver is mandatory to unlock those extra frames without the artifacts seen in earlier versions.
